Volcom would like to tip it's hat off to Kevin Pearce! The streetwear team rider returned to ripping runs in Colorado for the first time in two years. KP's remarkable recovery from the TBI that he suffered in 2009, has been extraordinary. He has proved to himself and all of us, that his determination, focus and drive goes unmatched. After countless hours with doctors and therapy, Kevin was given the ok to return to the slopes.

Solis x Volcom Stone's VQS Seaslug Surf Series - El Porto, Manhattan Beach
The Seaslug Surf Series came alive this last weekend in the South Bay. El Porto, Manhattan Beach that is, and before sunrise there was a line of 30+ cars waiting in the dark for the parking lot gates to open. The light of day revealed that recent run off had formed the El Porto sand bars and along with 2-4ft surf made for psyching Groms that couldn't wait to jump in the water. The rowdy bunch of kids wrestled their way through the day, attacked standout Chris Ward with Muscle Milk, and still found time to surf their heats.

Alex Gray has been awarded "Best Barrel" at this year's Surfer Poll Awards. His firsthand tales of from his experience at Teahupoo are beyond frightening, as were anyone's who witnessed that session from the channel that day. Alex and the small group of beast masters that attacked the biggest Chopes swell in a thousand years have all been noted, and our biggest congrats and hats off goes to Alex for receiving such a prestigious award.
